Jimmy Dale “Smitty” Smithey, 66, of Hattiesburg, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020, at Forrest General Hospital.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 25, 2020, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg with services immediately following at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Cole Family Cemetery.
Mr. Smithey was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed fishing and dirt track racing and was the owner of the #58 dirt track car that Dallas Mozingo drives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Laura Lowery.
He is survived by two sons, James Edward Smithey (Pam Eskew) and Colby Zearieck Cole Smithey; two step-sons, Gary Lowery (Nikki) and Jonathan Lowery; four grandchildren, Abby Werges, Anna Claire Lowery, Mykaela Lowery, and Garrett Lowery; two great grandchildren, Quinton and Cayden; two sisters, Diane Cornine and Beverly Meuschke; and one brother, Johnny Smithey.
