William “Ray” Draughn, 86, of the Hattiesburg, Petal area passed away on December 6, 2020, at Provision Living. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at Indian Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Draughn was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church. He served in the Army National Guard for 31 years, and was the grounds superintendent for the University of Southern Mississippi for 38 years. He was a 50-year member of the Hattiesburg Masonic Lodge. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Rae Barnett Draughn; his second wife, Mary Aultman Draughn; and two brothers, Walter Evon Draughn and Albert Glyn Draughn.

He is survived by his three children, Cindy Draughn Benzel (Kenny) of Oak Grove, William Ricky Draughn (Krystal) of Richton, and Michael Ray Draughn (Lela Gayle) of Petal; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Malcome Draughn of Petal; a half-sister, Sarah Lee Keys of Baton Rouge; four step-children, Danon Smith (Jim), Diana Gray, Melesa Caddick, and Marsha Zeiders (John); four step-grandchildren; and eight step-great grandchildren.
