Services will be held 3:30 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2020, at Jones and Son Chapel of Moselle for Mrs. Joy H. Brown, age 83, of Seminary who passed from this life on July 1, 2020, at her residence. Bro. Gilbert Allan will officiate the service with burial to follow in the Soule’s Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Paul Brown, Justin Brown, Chris Touchstone, Matthew Touchstone, Landis Herrin and Phillip Allan.
Mrs. Brown was born on April 20, 1937, to Landis and Pearl Herrin. She was a member of Sanford Methodist Church. She enjoyed genealogy and loved her family and friends. She nursed at the Methodist Hospital, Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg and at The Peace Corps Headquarters in Washington, DC.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Brown; parents, Landis and Pearl Herrin and sister, Linda Allan.
She is survived by her son, George “Buddy” (Barbara) Brown of Wesson, Brad (Peggy) Brown of Perkinston; grandchildren, Justin (Melissa) Brown of Alabaster, AL, Joshua Brown of Tuscaloosa, AL, Jeremy Padilla of Tuscaloosa, AL, Paul Brown of Perkinston and Teri (Chris) Touchstone of Perkinston; great-grandchildren, Cecelia, Evan, Matthew, Lindsey and Natalie and brother, Sam (JoDeb) Herrin of Petal.
Visitation will be 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2020, at Jones and Son Funeral Home.
