Dolories Lumpkin, 89, of Purvis passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020, at her residence.

Mrs. Lumpkin was a member at Bethlehem Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, which she loved. She would always go to church when she could, they even brought church to her house when she couldn’t get around as easily. She loved children and old people. She liked to spend time in her yard, gardening. Every Christmas she would take pride in getting her Christmas decorations up. She liked antiques. She was an avid animal lover.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Douglas Lumpkin; her parents, Marvin and Myrtle Lord; three sisters, Wanda Allen, Chiquita “Boots” Davis, and JuDolis Carr; and her brother Marvin Burnis Lord, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Lumpkin of Purvis; her brother, Oscar Carley Lord of Hattiesburg; her brother, James Lord of Red Bluff, CA; her sister, Glendora Hayes of Denham Springs, LA; her brother, Ron (Connie) Lord of Red Bluff, CA; her sister, Gail Bergeron of Denham Springs, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19 limitations, the family has decided to have a memorial service at a later date.
