Myrtle Draughn Parrett, 92, of Hattiesburg, passed away on May 4, 2020, at Highland Hospital in Picayune. A private family service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2020.
Mrs. Parrett was a member of Main Street Baptist Church for over 50 years. She graduated from New Augusta High School in 1945 with honors, and from William Carey College in 1955 on the honor roll. She was a member and past president of the A.B.W.A. She was a skillful seamstress and enjoyed working in her garden and playing the piano.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wyatt and Bessie Draughn; her husband, Earl Parrett; three sons, John Thomas Parrett, and Michael Earl Parrett, and Jeffery Randall Parrett; two grandchildren, Brian David Malone and Sarah Lee Ann Parrett; and two sisters, Gladys Ferrell and Stella McAtee.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Parrett Malone (David) of Picayune; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Draughn (Alba) of Hattiesburg.
