Vera V. Shumaker, 80, of Magee, Mississippi, died Tuesday, September 8, 2020, in Magee, Mississippi. She was born Thursday, March 21, 1940, in Raleigh, Mississippi.
Graveside Services will be held Friday, September 11, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at East Side Baptist Church Cemetery and burial will follow in East Side Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Keith Bogan and Bro. Howard Bennett will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements.
Vera was a member Phalti Baptist Church. She played the piano at Puchuta Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Minnie Thorton, son, Tommy Waggoner, brothers, Oyd Thorton, Kemmis Thorton, Mack Thorton.
Survivors include her husband of 9 years, Rev. James H. Shumaker, granddaughter, Ashley Waggoner and a host nieces and nephews.
