Velma Faye (Nanny) Presley, 88, of Laurel Mississippi, passed away on June 22, 2019, with her family by her side.
Visitation will be held at Memory Chapel on Monday, June 24, 2019, from 10:00 a.m., to 12:00 p.m., with a graveside service to follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Pastor Blake McDaniel will officiate.
She was born into a family of eight siblings to the late Floyd and Delia Williams on March 5, 1931 in Holly Ridge, Louisiana. She married the late Alvin M. Presley in 1948.
Faye is survived by two brothers: RB Williams, of Delta, Colorado; and Lee Carlton Williams, of Rayville, Louisiana, and by three children: Sharon Morris (David), of Florence, Alabama; Dale Presley, of Laurel, Mississippi; and Pam Smith (Todd), of Laurel, Mississippi.
She is also survived by five grandchildren: Jeff Morris (Julie), of Alabama; Ashlee Smith (Blake), of Laurel, Mississippi; Josh Presley, of Missoula, Montana; Kate Ward (David), of Petal, Mississippi; and Wyatt Smith, of Laurel, Mississippi, as well as several great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Faye was proceeded in death by her parents, Floyd and Delia Williams; her husband, Alvin M. Presley; her siblings, Annette Williams, Adelene Presley, Claudine McManus, Alfred Williams, and Gail Williams; and her granddaughter, Shelly Morris Harper.
Pallbearers will be: Dale Harper, Drew Morris, Wyatt Smith, Matt Smith, Blake Smith, David Ward.
For all that knew “Nanny,” knew her love for cooking and growing beautiful flowers. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and Nanny to many. She will be greatly missed.
