Franklin D. Walker, 87, of Taylorsville, Mississippi, died Thursday, November 28, 2019 ,at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born Monday, November 7, 1932, in Iuka, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Summerland Baptist Church in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 30, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Summerland Baptist Church and the Burial will follow in Summerland Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Harold Floyd and Bro. Andy Pittman will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements.
Frank was a member of Summerland Baptist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was in the US Army. He was an avid coon hunter and enjoyed gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Teddy Laffette and Ora Beatrice Walker, grandchild, Todd Jernigan, brothers, Harold Walker, R.D. Walker, Melvin Walker, sisters, Beatrice Vess, Janice Ervin.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Laverne Walker, son, Darrell Walker (Denice), daughters, Shelia Graham (John), Melissa Walker, grandchildren, Maggie Graham, McKenzy Walker, sisters, Olene Jones, Rachel Robinson and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Robertson, Rickey Welch, Brian Welch, Gary Walker, Randy Walker, and Michael Walker.
Honorary pallbearers will be his Sunday School Class, 2 special neighbors and friends, Joe Hulon and Lewis Odom, Thanks Buddies.
