Winnie Lou Rabon, 91, of Laurel, MS was called home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 14, 2019 at her residence. She was born Thursday, November 10, 1927 in Sandersville, MS.

A graveside service will be held at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery of Heidelberg on Monday March 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Bro. Jimmy Holder will officiate the service.

Winnie was met in Heaven by Conner “Buck” Rabon, her husband of 37 years; also, her daughter, Shirley Walters.

She leaves behind in Gods hands, four sons, Paul (Ricki) Nixon of Heidelberg, Charles Nixon of Laurel, Billy Wayne (Paula) Nixon of Ellisville, Steve “Tito” (Robbie) Nixon of Brent, AL; and one daughter, Mary Ellen Redd of Laurel; also, a large host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

In her final remaining years, she was cared for by all of her children; however, she was predominantly looked after by her son Charles.

Relatives and family friends will serve as pallbearers.

Winnie will be dearly missed. She was an outspoken woman who loved to talk. She had many wonderful traits that made her a delight to be around. Her biggest joy in life was being a mother as she loved all her children unconditionally. She was a wonderful care taker and a hard worker. At the age of 62 she retired after 20 plus years at Ellisville State School.

Winnie was also a devout Christian. She was a Baptist by faith. Her love for the Lord shone deeply. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ellisville in the Pecan Grove Community. Gospel music was her favorite genre. “How great thou art” and “Precious Memories” were her two favorite songs. Both songs will be preformed by Tim Graves at the graveside service.

The family of Mrs. Rabon would like to thank everyone for their kind words and prayers in our time of grief. We would also like to thank Memory Chapel for residing over the services.
