Jessie Mable Hatten Holifield, age 93, of Laurel, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 15, 2020, at South Central Regional Medical Center.

She was born December 7, 1926, a daughter of the late Jessie Graham and Mable Strother Hatten.

Jessie was preceded in death by her husbands, Grover Holifield and Woodrow Holifield; one son, Mike Holifield; four brothers, Robert Hatten, Lewis Hatten, Houston Hatten, and Jack Hatten; and two sisters, Bertha Rowell and Hazel Sherman.

She retired after working over 20 years at Fred's Dollar Store in Laurel. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

Jessie is survived by one daughter, Dianne Morris (David) of Laurel; six grandchildren, Clay Smith (Kelly); Corey Long (Van); Casey Herrington (Michael); Stephen Holifield (Amie); Jennifer West (Farrell); and Adam Holifield (Kristy), and thirteen great grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members who will sadly miss her.

Graveside services for family will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Shady Grove Cemetery, with Curtis Pitts officiating.

Jessie's family will serve as pallbearers.
