B. H. “Buck” Herrington, III, 88, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2020 ,at his residence in Petal. Due to the guidelines set by the CDC and the Governor, a private graveside service for the family will be held at Morriston Cemetery. A memorial service for Buck will be held at a later date.
B. H. was a very active member of Trinity Baptist Church who served as a Deacon for many years. He was an excellent caregiver who loved working in his garden and tending to his cows. He had served his Country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and then retired from the Mississippi Army National Guard and later he retired from Camp Shelby after many years of service.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Herrington; a great-grandson, Gus; his parents, B.H. and Bessie Herrington, Jr.; and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Herrington of Petal; three daughters, Angeli (Joe) Marino of Slidell, Ree (Alton) Morris of Neely, Marie (Mitchell) Denson of Petal; a son, Billy (Vickie) Robinson of Petal; eleven grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
