Billie Jo Phillips Newell, 68, of Petal, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Forrest General Hospital. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 7, 2020, at the Petal Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with interment in Hillcrest Cemetery to follow.
Billie Jo was a member of Turning Pointe Church. She had worked with ServiceMaster in Petal for many years as well as working as a private service provider. One of her favorite hobbies was drawing. She was preceded in death by her first husband, David Phillips, Sr.; her parents, Billy and Joy Lee; and a sister, Debbie Lee.
She is survived by her husband of eighteen years, Billy Wayne Newell of Petal; three sons, David (Dana) Phillips, Jr. of Shreveport, LA, Lt. Col. Eric (Kristy) Phillips of Anchorage, AK, Chris (Courtney) Phillips of Petal; a step-daughter, Beth (Richard) Ryley of Sand Hill; a sister, Penny (Jim) Moore of Wiggins; a brother, David (Demaris) Lee of Petal; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation for Billie Jo will be 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 7, 2020, at the Petal Chapel of Moore Funeral Home.
