William E. Myrick Jr., 93, of Bay Springs, Mississippi, died Friday, March 1, 2019 at Jasper County Nursing Home in Bay Springs, Mississippi. He was born Wednesday, January 6, 1926 in Stringer, Mississippi.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel

Funeral Home of Bay Springs. Burial followed in Holders Methodist Church. Bro. James Sprayberry officiated. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Myrick attended school until 11th grade. He then enlisted in the U. S. Army.

After returning home he became an electrician and carpenter. He built and wired several homes in Jasper County before becoming employed with Jasper General Hospital. He then worked at Doctor’s Hospital in Jackson, MS.

After retirement, he and his wife, Dillie, moved back to Bay Springs where they enjoyed gardening and their remaining years.

He was preceded in death by Dillie Myrick (Wife), William Evans Myrick (Father), Hattie Myrick (Mother), Rhoda Alice Myrick McNeil (Sister), Willie V. Myrick Canterbury (Sister), Jessie Lee Myrick Pickering (Sister), Earl Brewer Myrick (Brother).

Survivors include Helen Lee (Sister-in-law), and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Mack Lee, Mark Boyd, Billy Rayner, Thomas Boyd, Kenneth Myrick, and Paul Myrick.

Honorary pallbearers were Cooper Myrick, George Weaver, and Jessie Clayton.
