Norma Jean Faciane Gates, a long time business owner and resident of Wiggins, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020, at the age of 77.

Norma Jean was born on November 16, 1942, in New Orleans, LA to Norman and Vivian Faciane of Slidell, LA.

Norma Jean was co-owner of the Kwik Stop stores in Wiggins, Gulfport and Lucedale for many years. She also owned Wiggins Truck and Equipment from 1986-2005. Hurricane Katrina changed the course of her career as she became a case worker for FEMA from 2006-2009. Upon her retirement in 2009, until her passing Norma Jean enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren, enjoying her family time and long walks.

Norma Jean is proceeded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her daughter Susan Gates Luker and her husband Rusty Luker, and her son Michael Gates all of Perkinston, MS. She is survived by a sister, Ethel and her husband Ralph Friend of New Iberia, LA. She leaves behind three grandsons, who were her pride and joy, Ryan Page and his wife Kimberly Page, Kyle Luker and Jakson Gates. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Norma Jean’s life will be announced at a later date.
