Karen Jo Sanford, 68, of Petal passed away on September 12, 2020, at Forrest General Hospital. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at Moore Funeral Home in Petal from 1:00 p.m. until service at 3:00 p.m. followed by burial in Runnelstown Cemetery.
Mrs. Sanford was a member of Petal United Methodist Church. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Military order of Cooties Auxiliary. She loved to support veterans and making people smile.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Merline Young; her grandson, Corey David Dearman; and her grandfather, Betro Hodge.
She is survived by her husband, Jessie A. Sanford of Petal; two sons, Charles D. Knight of Hattiesburg and Joseph S. Johnson of Hattiesburg; her daughter, Alicia D. Graham of Hattiesburg; eight grandchildren, Bowen Knight of Petal, Davis Knight of Petal, Hannah Johnson of Crystal Springs, Justin Johnson of Crystal Springs, Landon Johnson of Crystal Springs, Cody Graham of Hattiesburg, Colin Graham of Hattiesburg, and Austin Clark of New Orleans; two brothers, David Young of Heidelberg and Charles Young of Ellisville; a sister, Frances Boutwell of Glade; and numerous nieces and nephews.
