Joan Sales, 72, of Purvis, passed away at the Pillars of Biloxi on Friday, August 21, 2020. There will be a memorial service for Joan at a later date.
Joan was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing and tending to animals in her spare time. She retired from Forrest General after many years of service as a register.
She is preceded in death by her father, Grady Miller, her mother, Irene Jennings; and a sister, Patricia Ashley.
She is survived by a son, Fred (Tami) Allen, III of Tallahassee, FL; a daughter, Marjory (Rob) Harris of Purvis; a brother, Grady Wright (Nancy) Miller, Jr. of Port St. Lucie, FL; eight grandchildren, Devan Carmichael, Alexis Harris, Tyler Harris, Kimberly (Michael) Abels, Colton Allen, Lila Allen, Christian Mikolajczak, Sean Mikoljczak; two great-grandchildren, Jamison Abels, Sophie Abels; and numerous friends at Forrest General.
At the request of the family, memorial may be directed to the Animal Humane Society or a local animal shelter.
