Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Lucedale for Mr. James Rudolph Walther, age 71, who passed from this life on September 21, 2019, at Greene County Hospital. Rev. Chris Wells will officiate with burial to follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joey Walther, Adrian Rasberry, Michael McLeod Jr., Ray Castillow, Tommy Castillow, Ricky Castillow and Charlie Walther, Jr. as Alternate. Honorary pallbearers will be William Waldrid and Ross Randolph.

Mr. Walther was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Lula Mae Walther; brothers, Al Walther, Sammie Walther and Frank “Nar” Walther. He is survived by his wife, Kim Fairley Walther of Leakesville; daughter, Ashleigh Walther of Lucedale; son, Chris (Ciera) Parsons of Lucedale, special daughter, Ginger (Adrian) Rasberry; grandchildren, Bailey Martin, Braxton Martin, Kohen Martin, Daevian Rasberry, Ryder Parsons, Bently Parson, Blair Wells, Annelise Wells, Brayden Parson; brothers, Joe Walther of Mobile, AL, Charlie Walther Sr. of Mobile, AL; sisters, Loretta Walther Young and Emma Walther Castillow, both of Mobile, AL; beloved pets, Blossom, Lulu and Sophia.

Mr. Walther taught and coached for 40 years in Greene County and George County, where he was also the girls basketball coach for many years, and at Theodore High School. He was a big Mississippi State Bulldog fan. He was a beloved father, husband, brother and friend.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 24, 2019, 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Lucedale
