Funeral services for Gerald David Malone, 71, were held at Memory Chapel in Laurel Friday, February 22, 2019, at 2 p.m. with interment in Antioch Methodist Church Cemetery.
Bro. Danny Dickerson officiated. Pallbearers were Jeremy Batte, Aaron Batte, Zachery Wilson, Russell Oswalt, Joseph Koerner, Austin Koerner, Brayden Malone, and Michael “Brandon” Mayers. Honorary pallbearers were David Shows and Richard Archer.
Mr. Malone died February 19, 2019, at MS Care Center in Raleigh. He was a self-employed carpenter and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He loved carpentry and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Truman Ezra and Henrietta Waggoner Malone; brother, Truman Jerry Malone; and a sister, Brenda Carol Henderson.
Survivors include his sons, Gerald David Malone Jr. “Pee- Wee” of Thompson Station, TN, and David Manuel Malone (Tara) of Raleigh; daughters, Sharlene Elizabeth Mayers (Michael) of Thompson Station, TN, Rebecca Lynn Wilson of Birmingham, AL, Jackie Malone Batte (Randy) of Raleigh, Brandi Renee McGee and Crystal Dawn Malone, both of Bay St. Louis, and Alecia Diane Malone of Waveland; 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and a sister, Patsy Knight of Laurel.
