Law enforcement officials on Thursday apprehended the shooting suspect wanted in the early Wednesday death of a 27-year-old Hattiesburg man in the Seminary area. The suspect was found in western Covington County.
Charles “Biloxi George” Chevalier, 39, was arrested by the Covington County Sheriff’s Office, while Simpson County Sheriff Paul Mullins and his deputies assisted in the arrest.
Braxton Lott of Hattiesburg, the victim Chevalier allegedly shot, was located at a mobile home on Woodbridge Lane in Seminary, according to Covington County Coroner Christopher DaQuila.
“His girlfriend and another man took him to the Covington County Hospital’s emergency room,” he said. “The medical staff worked on him, but they were unable to help. He died at 2:12 a.m. from a single shot to the chest.”
