Jones County—Moselle Volunteer Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire at 532 New Hope Road at 9:26 pm Sunday evening.
Upon arrival of the first responding fire personnel, the two story brick home was fully involved with partial roof collapse. Firefighters immediately began a defensive fire attack.
The home was owned by James Perry. Mr. Perry stated he awakened to popping and crackling noises and, upon investigation, found his attached garage in flames. No one else was in the home at the time of the incident. The home sustained catastrophic damage.
Moselle was assisted by Southwest Jones and Union volunteer fire departments. Emserv Ambulance Service was also on scene and treated one person for minor injuries who declined transport to the emergency room.
