On Saturday afternoon Shady Grove and Sharon Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a two-vehicle collision at Highway 15 and Trace Road.
An adult female in a Kia Sportage sustained moderate injuries in a collision when she attempted to cross the highway at Trace Road.
Witnesses reported that a four-door sedan traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on 15 clipped the Kia. The two occupants of that vehicle fled the scene on foot, according to witnesses.
Mississippi Highway Patrol was also on the scene.
EMServ Ambulance Service transported the driver of the Kia to the emergency department with serious, though, non-life-threatening, injuries.
