According to the US National Weather Service of Jackson, Mississippi there is a threat of severe thunderstorms this New Year's Eve in the Pine Belt area.
Severe thunderstorms, capable of producing damaging wind gusts and tornadoes, are possible on New Year's Eve across portions of central and southern Mississippi and northeastern Louisiana, according to the release.
