A benefit ride for Shady Grove Fire Chief David Houston is scheduled to take place this Saturday.
According to a GoFundMe page made to cover expenses for Houston and his family, on Monday, November 30 Houston tested positive for Covid-19 and on Tuesday December 1 was admitted to South Central Regional Medical center for Covid-19 and double pneumonia.
Houston has been an EMT for 44 years, a member of Shady Grove Volunteer Fire Department for 21 years, and chief of the department for seven years.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the ride will begin at 9 a.m. departing from Shady Grove Fire & Rescue where they will travel to Raleigh, then Hot Coffee, and back to South Central Regional Medical Center where they will have a time of prayer. The ride will then conclude at the Fire Station.
