An afternoon vehicle crash involving a 16 year old male ATV rider and an adult male driving a Chevrolet pickup has left the teenager suffering what were believed to be very serious injuries.
Units from from the Jones County Sheriff's Department responded to a 911 call at 3:42pm reporting the crash in the 600 block of Lake Como Road in the Sharon Community of Jones County. The teenager was transported by EMServ Ambulance Service to Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg for treatment of trauma injuries. The driver of the pickup truck involved declined medical assistance on the scene.
Volunteer fire and rescue units from Sharon and Shady Grove also responded to the scene and provided assistance with medical first response and traffic control.
The crash incident is under investigation by the Jones County Sheriff's Department.
