The Jones County Sheriff's Department has arrested James Touchstone on charges of Murder and Kidnapping after a shooting incident left an adult female deceased on Lawn Haven Church Road on Saturday afternoon.
"The investigation into a shooting death in the Powers Community is underway and next-of-kin notifications are underway," notes Jones County Sheriff Joe Berlin.
He concludes, "The victim's name is being withheld until family members are made aware of this tragic death."
Units from the Jones County Sheriff's Department, EMServ Ambulance Service, Powers Fire & Rescue, and the Jones County Coroner's Office responded to the scene.
