The Jones County Underwater Search & Recovery Dive Team recovered a GMC Sierra pickup truck on Tuesday afternoon from the waters of Bogue Homa Lake. Fishermen inadvertently spotted the submerged pickup with underwater sonar near a boat ramp and alerted authorities.
The submerged pickup had been reported stolen months earlier by the owner. Dive Team members Scott Sims, Brennon Chancellor, Jake Driskell, and Ethan Wimberly located the vehicle in approximately 12' of water. They attached a tow cable from a Brian's Towing wrecker and the pickup was pulled from the water.

Jones County Underwater Search & Recovery Dive Team, Jones County Sheriff's Department, and the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks along with Brian's Towing.
Sheriff Joe Berlin notes, "Great job by our Dive Team members in locating and recovering this vehicle. This team regularly trains for underwater missions and their skills and abilities were put to use once again today."
