A routine traffic stop led to a large drug bust for Jones County Officers Monday afternoon.
Keon Maurice Bowler, 27, of Philadelphia, MS was arrested and charged with Aggravated Trafficking when 2.2lbs of methamphetamine was found in his vehicle.
Sgt. Jake Driskell said that Bowler was traveling on the northbound side of I-59 near the 83 mile marker when Bowler was stopped for a routine traffic stop. Driskell stated that Bowler became nervous, which led to the search of his vehicle where the meth was then found.
Officers also found a firearm in the vehicle.
Driskell stated that the 2.2lbs of meth has an approximate street value of over $80,000. The crime stands a sentence of no less than 25 years in prison if convicted.
