Each year the Hattiesburg Arts Council offers professional development workshops for teachers. Our highly accredited programs provide K-12 teachers with the creative skills needed to integrate the arts in their classroom.

This coming January 5th, 2021 our workshop, “Art for All Mississippi," is for instructors who specialize in working with students with disabilities.

“Art for All Mississippi” promotes and provides arts opportunities to people with disabilities. One of their core objectives is to provide arts education integrated with curriculum standards to teachers and students with and without disabilities.

Mississippi Arts Commission teaching artists, Tom Harmon and Chuck Galey Mississippi have been developing and conducting teacher professional development training for the past 8 years. They will focus on providing K-12 school instructors a framework in standard aligned arts integration and Universal Design for Learning strategies.

Due to COVID-19, we will only be allowing 20 participants into this workshop.

The deadline for registration is Friday, December 10th, 2020.

This workshop also includes morning pastries and lunch !!!
