A 29-year-old Purvis man was arrested Friday after a search warrant from the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit turned up a table full of drugs and two weapons, including one stolen.

Damond Brown was arrested and charged with six felonies, including possession of a stolen weapon and possession of a weapon, both by a convicted felon.

“We ended up serving a search on him,” Lamar County Danny Rigel said. “That's when we found the edible marijuana and the two guns; one of the guns stolen.”

Also among the drugs included hashish in cigar-looking items and THC-loaded candy and cookies.

“They have Rice Crispy Treats that we were talking about,” he said. “That's what you find in every kid's lunchbox.”

Altogether, the drugs were about 2.5 pounds of marijuana, liquid THC, edibles including candy infused with THC.

“The problem with (some THC-loaded candy) is you don't know what's the concentration amounts are in that candy,” Rigel said. “We also got some vaping cartridges that are fruit-flavored. The cartridges are marked on the package anywhere from 88 to 97 percent pure.”

Brown is being held in the Lamar County Jail.
