A Covington County man who told deputies Saturday evening he shot his wife was held on $1 million bond Sunday by Judge Bobby Wayne Mooney.
Wilcox called the Sheriff’s Department while he was outside his home in southwest Covington County. He said he had shot his wife and would be waiting on the deputies outside. When deputies arrived, James Wilcox, was sitting outside, told them he had shot his wife, and that she was in the house.
Wilcox was arrested, and deputies located Sharron Wilcox inside the house with a gunshot wound. Medical personnel were also dispatched to the scene; they said she was deceased.
Wilcox was transported and booked into the Covington County Jail for murder.
