A Jones County Sheriff’s Department deputy sustained injuries during an overnight traffic stop that turned violent. The suspect of the vehicle involved, Demetrius Omar Nabors, 26 years old, is wanted for Aggravated Assault On An Officer.
Nabors allegedly fled the scene on Sharon-Sandersville Road after the violent vehicular assault, later crashing and abandoning his vehicle. The deputy, whose name is being withheld, was treated at South Central Regional Medical Center for his injuries and released pending further medical tests with specialists.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation was called in overnight and is in charge of the investigation. Anyone with knowledge of the whereabouts of Demetrius Omar Nabors is asked to call 911, the Jones County Sheriff’s Department at 601-425-3147 or Jones County Crime Stoppers at 601-428-STOP (7867).
Nabors is considered to be Armed and Dangerous.
