Jones County--A major wreck on Lower Myrick Road at Township Road had traffic in the area slowed Friday afternoon for roughly an hour. At 1:44 p.m. Glade, M&M and Powers Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a report of a two vehicle collision at the intersection.
Two passengers in a Jeep Cherokee were traveling south on Township Road when it collided with a singularly occupied Buick Enclave traveling west on Lower Myrick Road in which the Buick ended up well off the road.
The fire departments arrived quickly and began emergency medical treatment and traffic control. Traffic had to be diverted away from the incident, making travel on Lower Myrick impossible in that area for roughly an hour while emergency personnel worked.
The vehicles sustained major damage.
Emserv Ambulance Service transported two adults and one minor to the emergency department from the scene, all with moderate but non-life threatening injuries.
Jones County Sheriff's Office was also on scene.
