According to Dana Bumgardner with the Jones County Fire Council at 8:22 p.m. Wednesday night, the Shady Grove and Sharon Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a structure fire at 70 County Barn Road, Lot 1.

In the report, the mobile home park owner, Mr. James Clark and his wife, reported that the home was rented by Cherice Turner for the past several months.

No one was home at the time of the incident.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the single wide mobile home with heavy smoke and flames coming out of the front window, near the living room area of the house. Firefighters initiated an immediate interior attack and were able to extinguish the flames.

While the home sustained major damage, it remained structurally intact.

Ms. Turner lives at the home with her three children.

The Jones County Sheriff's Department was also on the scene at the time of the fire and will be investigating the fire according to the press release.

No injuries were reported after the fire had been extinguished.
