A person who was accidentally wounded in a 6 p.m. Friday shooting in Hattiesburg was taken to a local hospital for treatment of the injury.
Hattiesburg Police responded to the report of the accidental shooting in the 6100 block of U.S. Hwy. 98 in the parking lot of Academy Sports, according to Ryan Moore, HPD Public Information Officer.
No criminal element to the incident was reported, and no other injuries were sustained.
