According to Paul Sheffield with the Jones County Emergency Operations Center, the Jones County area has been placed in a limited threat for strong winds Monday afternoon.
Per the press release, the Pine Belt area could see sustained winds of 20-25 mph with gusts up to 30-35 mph. These winds are possible throughout the day.
Sheffield said the county should also expect a freeze overnight, with temps expected to fall into the 20s overnight.
Sheffield advised residents to please plan accordingly. Make sure all pets have a warm area, and plants are kept safely.
