A 35-year-old Hattiesburg man was arrested Friday by members of the Metro Narcotics Task Force and Hattiesburg Police on felony weapon and drug charges.
Michael Brooks was arrested in the 400 block of Brady Avenue, according to HPD Public Information Officer Ryan Moore.
Brooks was charged with possession with intent to distribute (spice) while in possession of a firearm within 1,500 feet of a church, possession of a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm (hydrocodone), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a stolen firearm.
During the investigation, a stolen firearm, $480 in cash, spice and hydrocodone were recovered.
Brooks was booked into the Forrest County Correctional Facility.
