A stop at a service station in Laurel led to the arrest of a man wanted and charged with a laundry list of prior offenses.
Terrell Tillman, 24, was arrested in Laurel late Sunday evening at a local gas station after the arresting officer stopped to buy a refreshment and Tillman entered the premises according to Laurel Police Chief Tommy Cox.
“This started on June 29th when Tillman fled from a checkpoint,” said Cox.
According to Cox, Tillman allegedly jumped from his vehicle that night, dropped a firearm, and fled from the officers at the checkpoint. The officers then issued a warrant for Tillman’s arrest.
Tillman entered the local convenience store that the same officer that he allegedly fled from was inside. The officer then arrested Tillman without incident according to Chief Cox nearly four months to the day the warrant was issued.
Tillman has many charges against him between both incidents that include Weapon Possession by a Felon, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana in a Vehicle, Open Container, No Drivers License, Careless Driving, Child Restraint Law, No Insurance, Resisting Arrest, Failure to Yield at Blue Light, and Providing False Information to aw Enforcement.
Chief Cox said that no one was injured during the arrest and cited that, “In the end, the good guys just win.”
