Due to the ongoing threat of the Covid-19 virus outbreak, the Veterans Memorial Museum has chosen to cancel the annual live, in-person Veterans Day Ceremony for 2020.

In its place, the VMM will broadcast a “virtual” program on Facebook and the museum website. The keynote speaker for the program is Reverend Greg Spencer, the pastor of First Baptist Church of Ellisville, MS. The “virtual” program will be on November 11 th @ 10:00 a.m. and will be available to the general public.

LTC Larry Callahan (USA, Retired), president of the VMM, shared the following thoughts about this decision.

“This has been a difficult year since we were forced to close our doors AND cancel our annual Memorial Day Ceremony. We had hoped that by Veterans Day, that we would be able to again meet in person, but the risk to our guests and volunteers is just too great to take this chance. We hope that by next spring, we can again schedule live ceremonies at the museum.”

The VMM will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, but will be open on Thursday & Friday, November 12th & 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
