Two men – one each from Brookhaven and Hattiesburg – were arrested and charged Wednesday by the Hattiesburg Police Department in an ongoing investigation into the Feb. 14 shooting that injured two people.
Calvin Haynes, 21, of Brookhaven has been arrested and charged with two counts of tampering with evidence.
Aquevias Tatum, 24, of Hattiesburg has been arrested and charged with one count of tampering with evidence.
Both individuals have been charged in connection to the shooting that occurred in the 100 block of East Front Street.
Four people – Erik McFarland Jr., 24, of Hattiesburg; Gerobe Peters Jr. and T’Riderick Daniels, 24, both of Bassfield; and Aerion Dority, of Bay St. Louis – turned themselves in for questioning in reference to the incident .
Two people were injured in the shooting and were transported to a local hospital in a private vehicle, according to HPD Public Information Officer Ryan Moore.
The investigation is still ongoing, and additional arrests are pending at this time.
