The Red Devils were on fire in the second round of the playoffs, outscoring French Camp 27-1 in two games of a three-game series.

Eighth grader Madilyn Graham had her second no-hitter of the season in game one. The playoffs is always a good time for a young team to get hot, and the Red Devils are certainly there.

Stringer is loaded with youth, and that could pose issues as the better teams advance. Veteran head coach Jody Rowell has won state championships as a player and a coach in other sports. He emphasized this year is not about him.

"To be honest my biggest concern is to keep these young girls focused. We have a bright future here, and we want to build this program right," Rowell said.

The Lady devils are currently 23-3 on the season, and their only losses came from Taylorsville and Enterprise who both have advanced in the 2A playoffs this week.

Up next, Stringer will visit Ethel on Friday at 5 p.m. for a best two-out-of-three series. They then host Ethel for a double-header on Saturday at 5 p.m.

When asked about his team's expectations, Rowell had this to say, "They know how big this is. They know exactly how many games they have to win. It's eight. It was unfortunate last year to be shut down because of COVID, but our girls know exactly where they are 100%."
