Jones County narcotics agents continue to make an impact, this time performing an overnight search on a suspect which led to multiple charges.
"Narcotics agents with the Jones County Sheriff's Department executed a narcotics search warrant earlier tonight making one arrest," stated the department.
Jones County Sheriff's officers arrested Sean Babineaux, 33, on charges of Possession Of Methamphetamine While In Possession Of A Firearm, Possession Of A Stolen Firearm and Possession Of A Firearm By A Felon.
"Babineaux is now incarcerated at the Jones County Adult Detention Facility pending his initial appearance in Jones County Justice Court," according to the department.
The department also reported that two small children who were in the home at the time of the search warrant service were placed in the custody of a family member.
"Child Protective Services (CPS) will be updated on the incident later this morning," stated officials.
Jones County Sheriff Joe Berlin noted in his press release, "We are aggressively pursuing those who are selling illegal narcotics in Jones County. Day and night our narcotics agents are out investigating sale cases and making arrests."
"Don't think for one minute that if you are slinging dope that we won't catch you. There is always a jail cell waiting for those who are in the illegal narcotics business in Jones County," concluded Berlin.
