The Laurel Police Department continues to make great use to an Impaired Driver Grant that they received, with August producing solid results.
"The Laurel Police Department statistics in relation to an Impaired Driver Grant and
Traffic Services Grant continue to show positive results for the community," said Laurel Police Chief Tommy Cox.
"August stats were 282 tickets, 5 drug arrests, 3 felony arrests and 4 fugitives apprehended," continued Chief Cox.
"The stats reflect only the grant details and not the work done by our Officers on regular shifts" added Chief Cox.
According to Chief Cox, we believe that the extra visibility that these grants afford us helps to prevent traffic accidents and criminal activity.
Any persons with information about current cases are any incidents are encouraged to call the Laurel Police Department at 601-399-4440 or Crime Stoppers at 601-428-STOP.
