The Laurel Fire Department was called to extinguish a fire on Acro Lane Tuesday evening.

A Tuesday evening structure fire on Acro Lane in Laurel did significant damage according to Laurel Fire Chief Leo Brown.

"Tuesday night at approximately 9:04 p.m. the Laurel Fire Department received a call from 911 dispatch of a structure fire at 515 Arco Lane," said Brown.

"Battalion Chief Ferguson - B-Shift Commander - dispatched four engine companies to the location, E-1, E-2, E-4 , E-5 and B-1," continued Brown.

According to the report, the E-1 engine was the first unit to arrive on the scene and reported heavy flames showing from the front of the home and out of the side windows.

The four engine crews did an offensive attack and extinguished the fire in approximately one hour. It was contained to the front and the sides of the home, per the report.

"There were no reported injuries to the occupants of the home or any of the Laurel Fire Department personnel," said Brown.

"The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time and no further information will be released at this time," stated Brown.
