STARKVILLE – Mississippi State left tackle Charles Cross was named Offensive Lineman of the Week by the Southeastern Conference on Monday.

The 6-foot-5, 310-pound sophomore, did not allow a single pressure during the Bulldogs’ 24-10 victory over NC State last week, a game in which MSU dropped back to pass 51 times.

Cross played 65 snaps in that contest and received a 73.6 overall grade from Pro Football Focus (PFF) to lead the Bulldogs’ offensive line. He also posted an 88.8 pass blocking grade, which ranked third in the league last week.

The Laurel, Miss., native is the first Mississippi State offensive lineman to earn the weekly honor from the SEC since Darryl Williams did so twice during the 2019 campaign.

Cross has started both games as the Bulldogs’ bookend at left tackle this season. He was a Freshman All-SEC selection last year and tabbed to the Preseason All-SEC second team by the league’s coaches last month.
