Jones County, MS - Evening traffic on Highway 29 at Maxey Road was slowed Friday evening about 5:40 p.m. due to a two-vehicle collision. Calhoun, Hebron and Pleasant Ridge volunteer fire departments responded to the incident to render emergency medical treatment and assist with traffic control.
At the time the incident occurred, the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on Highway 29 turning left onto Maxey Road when the driver of a green Ford F250 was traveling north on Highway 29. The north bound lane of Highway 29 was blocked for about an hour and a half while emergency crews worked to clear the vehicles and debris. Both vehicles sustained major damage in the collision.
The driver of the Ford F250 was transported with apparent minor injuries to the emergency department by Emserv Ambulance Service. The driver of the Silverado refused transport to the hospital. MHP was also on scene.
