A 24-year-old Hattiesburg man was arrested Saturday night and charged with five misdemeanors, including shooting a gun inside city limits and carrying a concealed weapon.
About 8 p.m., Hattiesburg police officers arrested Brandon Howlett after shots were fired in the 1000 block of Adeline Street. Officers had received a vehicle description and located the vehicle, a black BMW, at the end of Adeline Street and South 11th Avenue shortly after the report of gunshots.
Howlett was charged with discharging a firearm in the city limits, carrying a concealed weapon, disorderly conduct, malicious mischief, and resisting arrest (misdemeanor).
The incident apparently involved a fight with his girlfriend. There were no injuries in the incident. Howlett was transported to the Forrest County Jail and booked.
