A Jones County Sheriff's Department deputy escaped serious injuries this afternoon after a traffic stop on Old School House Road near the intersection of New Hope Road southwest of Ellisville turned violent.
An adult male subject exited the vehicle he was in and attacked the deputy and a physical struggle ensued. The JCSD deputy was able to radio for assistance as the violent struggle continued and numerous units from the JCSD and a unit from the Ellisville Police Department responded to the scene.
The adult male subject was taken into custody as the EPD unit and JCSD units arrived in quick succession. An adult female and adult male in the vehicle which was stopped by the deputy fled the scene in the vehicle before backup arrived on scene. Both suspects have been located in the past hour, taken into custody and will face charges. This situation is unfolding and additional information will be released tomorrow morning by the Jones County Sheriff's Department.
