Free COVID-19 testing coming to Heidelberg Monday

A free, mobile COVID-19 Testing Site will be coming to Heidelberg on Monday, August 17.

According to Jasper County Emergency Management Agency Deputy Director Hudson Jenkins, the testing site will be staged at Heidelberg High School (804 N Pine Ave.). Those seeking to be tested must register prior to being tested. The University of Mississippi Medical Center and the Mississippi State Department of Health will be testing in Heidelberg from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

You should be tested if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms such as cough or shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, or at least two of the following: fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell.

To schedule an appointment at the Heidelberg testing site, call 601-496-7200 or visit the C-Spire Health app on a smartphone or tablet. You do not have to be a C-Spire customer to access the C-Spire Health app. Screening through the app is performed from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday – Saturday. Those who use the app will have a video call with a UMMC clinician on their smartphone or tablet.
