The timing for the possible sever weather in the Pine Belt Region has been adjusted according to Jones County EOC Executive Director Paul Sheffield.
“Our timing has moved a little more into the afternoon,” said Sheffield refer to the Jones County area. “Beginning in the afternoon hours, we will begin to see Super Cell Development. With these super cells, all modes of severe weather will be possible. We could also see gradient winds starting around noon and lasting until the evening hours of 20-25 MPH. This alone could bring down trees and cause damage.”
Sheffield added that if this timing holds through today, the EOC may adjust the opening time for the 361 Safe Room located on Ellisville Blvd. next to the Laurel Fairgrounds.
We will update information as it becomes available.
