UPDATE: Jones County remains in the marginal risk for severe weather. The latest from the NWS in Jackson extends the time this evening to 11 p.m. - 5 a.m.
According to Paul Sheffield, executive director of the Jones County Emergency Operations Center, the National Weather Service in Jackson has placed Jones County under a marginal risk for possible isolated severe storms late this evening, 11 p.m. - 4 a.m.
The main threat with storms will be damaging wind gusts to 60 mph. Tornadoes can’t be ruled out.
